Work of a Neurosurgeon

Brain Surgery

Neurosurgeons treat a wide range of conditions, and contrary to popular opinion are more than just brain surgeons. They are trained to help patients with head and spine trauma, chronic low back pain, brain and spinal tumors, birth defects, abnormalities of the peripheral nerves, aneurysm of the brain and many more.

Neurosurgeons provide a lot of healthcare services for disorders of the nervous system. They provide operative and non-operative management of neurological disorders. After a patient with a neurological condition must have been referred to a neurology doctor near him, the neurologist will perform a diagnosis of the patient’s health.

The neurologist reviews the patient’s history, after which a neurological examination is conducted. This involves testing vision, reflexes, coordination, strength, and sensation.
